It was the biggest snowfall ever recorded to grace the east coast. The massive amounts of snow quickly created a conundrum for guests traveling from DC to the heart of VA to share in Nikole and Jared’s destination wedding. Despite the weather challenges, Nikole and Jared’s positive spirits outshined any weather disappointment they encountered, a true testimony to their amazing character. My heart went out to them as I know there were many other people they would’ve loved to share their day with. I applaud them for the grace in which they handled it all.
Throughout the course of the weekend, I heard several people comment, “But your photos will be so beautiful because of the snow.” I certainly felt confident that the winter wonderland provided a beautiful background for their wedding. However, the snow could only enhance that which already existed between these two souls. When I remember the emotion and energy of their day, it’s their deep and genuine love for each other that stands out most. Their heartfelt vows to one another, their tender glances, their confidence in one another’s love. It was as if all of nature celebrated the union of these two special souls. My hope is that for those who couldn’t make it, when you look at these images, this beauty outshines that which mother nature added as a watermark on their day.
Before I get too weepy…please enjoy some photos. Thank you Nikole and Jared for trusting us to capture everything that makes you two so beautiful. We are truly blessed to know you and call you friends.
